HISTORY OF ROTARY

"Whatever Rotary may mean to us, to the world it will be known by the results it achieves."

OUR ONGOING COMMITMENT

Rotarians have not only been present for major events in history–we’ve been a part of them. From the beginning, three key traits have remained strong throughout Rotary.
We’re truly international. Just 16 years after its founding, Rotary had clubs on six different continents. Today, we’re working together around the globe to solve some of our world’s most challenging problems.
We persevere in tough times. During WWII, Rotary clubs in Germany Austria, Italy, Spain, and Japan were forced to disband. Despite the risks, many continued meeting informally and after the end of the war, Rotary members joined together to rebuild their clubs and help their countries.
Our commitment to service is ongoing. We began our fight against polio in 1979 with a project to immunize 6 million children in the Philippines. By 2012, only three countries remain polio-endemic—down from 125 in 1988.

WHO WE ARE

The Princeton Corridor Rotary Club was chartered in 1986 by Nick Carnevale. Over the years, our club has donated heavily to local organizations in need and sponsored scholarships to graduates of West Windsor’s North and South High Schools. Our membership base has grown to average 35+ people and consists of entrepreneurs, professionals, and similar small business operators.

Other organizations we have partnered with include Homefront, Boys and Girls Club, Kesner DuFresne Memorial Scholarship, Local Eagle Scouts, and West Windsor Little League. Our financial contributions on an annual basis generally exceed $25,000.00. Commitments, time to various projects, events, and fundraisers are part of our club tradition.
